LED Lighting: Do I really Need 90CRI? // REGINA

SK Design Week 2019

LED Lighting: Do I really Need 90CRI?

As designers, we are constantly asking this question.  But what we really want to know is, how do we ensure a space is bright, vivid, and colors are rendered accurately?

Using light fixture samples and real world design materials throughout, this easy to follow presentation will demonstrate the limitations of CRI ratings as well as introduce and discuss the new IES standard for measuring color, TM-30.

At the end of the this course, participants will be able to:

1. Identify and interpret the numerical and graphical elements of TM-30
2. Learn the differences between TM-30-15 and TM-30-18
3. Become aware of some ways TM-30 can be used to aid in design and specification
4. Understand the limitations of TM-30 and other color rendition measures

A presentation by ETC (electronic theatre controls) who is a leader in visual environment technologies.

Presented in partnership with the Illuminating Engineering Society and Titan Marketing Solutions.
