Amanda Schutz

Graphic Designer (Edmonton)

Way back in 2002, Amanda Schutz struck out on her own as an independent designer and illustrator. In its first decade, her little studio thrived. Over the past decade, Rachel Beyer and Graham Johnson joined the team, making Curio Studio three times as clever. Today, we enjoy days full of good conversation, fulfilling collaborations, and friendly clients.

As a company, Curio acts and operates just like the team does in their daily lives: authentically, responsibly, transparently, and empathetically. We’re good listeners and creative problem solvers — and we have a reputation for exceeding our clients’ expectations with memorable work and personalized service.

Curio’s diverse client list includes arts and professional organizations, music festivals, food producers, established corporations, and exciting small businesses. We welcome inquiries from anyone who is interested in hiring us for projects that need branding, illustration, animation, or graphic design.

Amanda Schutz loves to grow things — in her garden, in the design industry, and in her community. As the founder and creator director at Curio Studio, Amanda planted the seeds of kindness and creativity that have grown into a successful design studio. Between client projects, she profiles her peers on the Canadian Women in Design website, indulges a healthy obsession with lichen, loves to paint, and loves to parent. Amanda has taught design & illustration at her alma mater, MacEwan University, and is a two-term past president of the Graphic Designers of Canada, Alberta North Chapter.
